Our origin story, thanks to Shoutout Miami

Shoutout Miami reached out to Jean with an opportunity to answer one of several questions and shared our conversation on their digital magazine. The one Jean chose to respond to was:

What was your thought process behind starting your own business?

Jean loves a good origin story; she loves asking people how they got to where they are and listen as the story unfolds through surprising turns and detours. We realized that many people probably don’t know our story, also filled with so many unexpected turns. We definitely didn’t just wake up one morning and say, “Let’s create affordable studio space for the artist community!”

You can read the full interview at the link below, but here’s a teaser to get you started.

“We started Warehouse 4726 because, like other artists, we needed studio space. Trying to make work in our home, with children and the duties that come with a family, really didn’t leave space for art supplies and art work. Iggy was painting outside after the kids went to bed, hanging canvases on a hook on the side of the house. I wasn’t really doing much artwork at all with 5 kids in our 1200 square foot home. The arts marketing company Font Squared came soon after, as a way to help artists like us develop a more professional image.”
